Christmas Eve: The sled is packed and ready to go

Mrs. Claus’ Hot Chocolate

As the year comes to a close, we’re reminded that meaningful work—like meaningful stories—begins with empathy, grows through collaboration, and succeeds when it serves something larger than ourselves.

Ho ho ho!

Tomorrow is the big day, and the excitement is palpable. Today, the elves loaded the sleigh with beautifully wrapped presents, making sure each one found its place. Rudolph and I inspected the sleigh one last time, ensuring it was ready for takeoff. Then I took a moment to reflect. We have come a long way since the early days when we are all were inexperienced but big-hearted. The idea that any child in this world would experience a Christmas with no gifts made our hearts break.

Along the way, we made many friends, including the Abominable Snowman and the Winter Warlock. We started by showing them kindness that they had not experienced in years. Instead of terrorizing travelers, they became our friends and made our jobs much easier. We couldn’t win them all, of course. The terrible Burgermeister Meisterburger could not be redeemed, but we overcame the challenges he posed and Christmas has prevailed!

Our workshop has expanded every year to accommodate the increasing demand for toys. And Rudolph has grown into a big, strong leader we all knew he would be. Christmas 2023 can be the best holiday ever if everyone can understand that love is stronger than hate and that it feels great to first be a giver before being a receiver. I will see you all next year!

Love,

Santa
